SUMMER INTERNSHIP

The Generation Church summer Internship is a 6 week program each summer Designed to develop students as Disciples and Leaders.

THE INTERNSHIP INCLUDES:
  • Hands on Ministry Experience 
  • Leadership Labs 
  • One on One Coaching 
  • Small Group Time 
  • Outings 
  • Involvements in Sundays, Wednesdays, and Events 
  • Reach Project 
WHO IS FOR THE INTERNSHIP?
A Generation Intern is a saved, baptized, fruit-producing disciple from inside or outside our church who shows exceptional leadership potential and has the desire & availability to take on more. The age rage for these people are  from students having completed 9th grade to seniors who just graduated.
What is the time commitment?
  • Tuesdays 9am - 3pm 
  • Tuesday Nights 6pm - 8pm (Small Group) 
  • Wednesdays 9am - 3 pm 
  • Sundays - Serve 1 experience, Worship 1 experience 
  • Also youth nights, KiDS Conf, Youth Conf, and other various events that will be communicated with enough time to plan for. 
*June 2nd (First Day) - we will began the day at 7:00am

WEEK 1- Summer '26

Tuesday Morning, we started off with the GC History Drive which shows all of the places across Portland and Westmoreland that have had an impact on Generation Church. Then we came back and had breakfast, staff worship, and orientation. That afternoon we started working on things for YTH CONF. Tuesday Night we had our first small group where we discussed the book we are going to be reading over the next 6 weeks, "Leading Yourself" by Mac Lake.  Wednesday morning we had a Leadership Lab on how to craft a Rule of Life, then we each had our first One on Ones, which is where our staff meet with each intern to talk about specific things they want to grow in. Our project for that day was working on more things for Youth Conf. On Sunday we each got to serve / shadow  in different areas of the church to see different perspectives of serving throughout the Church.  

WEEK 2- Summer '26

Tuesday Morning, we started off with staff prayer, specifically we prayed for students/volunteers going to YTH Conf. Then we reviewed our Rule Of Lifes that we started working on last week. After that, we had our One on One Meetings and spent the rest of the day prepping for YTH Conf . Tuesday Night we had our Second Small Group, we ended up doing it over FaceTime because of the weather.  We had a lesson on Spiritual Gifts and discussed our results from the Spiritual Gifts test.  Then, we discussed our book,"Leading Yourself" by Mac Lake.  Wednesday morning we had a Leadership Lab on Time Management. Our project for the day was working on more things for Youth Conf. On Sunday we each got to serve / shadow  in different areas of the church to see different perspectives of serving throughout the Church.
